Meningiomas are benign tumors and characterized by slow growth. However, in women, before postmenopausal period, the growth of meningioma may be accelerated by the influence of female hormones (estrogen, progesterone). Pregnancy also promotes meningiomas growth. Cranio-basal approaches and intraoperative neuromonitoring of cranial nerves and cortical tracts (SSEP, MEP) increase safety of surgical procedure.
